Runaway Sky's journey began when Simone and Taylor met at a Hear Fort Worth Mixer in August 2021. What started as a chance encounter quickly blossomed into a musical partnership fueled by shared creativity and a knack for harmonizing. Discovering their compatibility as songwriters and performers, they introduced themselves to the DFW scene in 2022. Together, they blend elements of Sheryl Crow's soulfulness with Kacey Musgraves' storytelling charm, infused with their own playful spirit.

Their rise has been marked by milestones such as features on Good Morning Texas, performances at prestigious venues, being a featured band at Americanafest, and sharing stages with admired artists like Alexz Johnson, Tim Lightyear, Billy King and the Bad Bad Bad, and Sixpence None The Richer. In 2024 and 2025, they were also nominated for “Best Country Act” and “Best Country Song” for the Dallas Entertainment Awards. And in 2025 the duo was nominated for “Best Country Artist,” “Best New Band,” “Best Song,” and both Taylor and Simone were also nominated for “Best Female Vocalist,” for the Fort Worth Weekly Awards.  Runaway Sky has released three singles (Arizona/Sweet Things/Waste My Time) with their debut album set to be released in September of this year! Their single “Arizona,” was recently announced as a semi-finalist in  the 2025 International Songwriting Competition.
